The institute was founded by Soundarya Educational Trust (SET). The institute offers a unique learning environment for students. It was initially started with 92 students and today is functioning with 1,500+ students. At the institute, they use new techniques and methodologies to teach students in a modern and better way. The institute is affiliated with Bangalore University and accredited by NAAC ranked B+. The institute is also recongnised by UGC (University Grants Commission). SIMS has created a good reputation of its own by offering quality education to students for more than a decade. It offers several courses at UG and PG level programmes in streams like Commerce, Management, Science, Computer Science, and Journalism.
