XAT 2026 Begins Registration with Exam Slated for January 4, 2026

Synopsis: The XAT 2026 registration window is open with a deadline of December 5 2025. The exam will take place on January 4 2026 in computer-based mode across over 70 test cities, offering admission to more than 800 MBA/PGDM programmes. Key updates include form correction window (October 14-16) and official mock tests.

The Xavier School of Management (XLRI), conducting body for XAT on behalf of the XAT Association of Management Institutes (XAMI), has officially launched the registration process for XAT 2026. The computer-based test will be held on Sunday, 4 January 2026, and registration closes on Friday, 5 December 2025.

Registration & Correction Window
Registration began on 10 July 2025. After submission, candidates will be able to make edits during a short correction window from 14 October to 16 October 2025, enabling changes to details like test city preference, academic credentials and work experience.

Eligibility & Fee Structure

Candidates must hold a 3-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline; final year students are eligible.
General category application fee stands at ₹2,200, with an additional ₹200 for XLRI programme application.

Exam Format & Syllabus
XAT 2026 will be conducted fully online across 70+ cities. It features:

Four main sections: Decision Making; Verbal & Logical Ability; Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation; General Knowledge.
Total of 95 MCQs in 180 minutes; essay writing eliminated.
Marking: +1 for correct answer; –0.25 for wrong; additional –0.10 per question for more than eight unanswered questions in non-GK sections.

Mock Tests & Preparation
Candidates registered by the deadline can access official XAT mock tests. The second window for the official mock is open from 29 October to 1 November 2025. Experts encourage practising multiple mock tests to manage time and stamina.
