IIM Kozhikode Records Largest-Ever Executive MBA Batch with Strong Women Representation

Synopsis: The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has inducted its largest-ever Executive Post Graduate Programme – Interactive Learning (EPGP–IL) batch with 683 participants. The cohort marks a milestone in gender diversity, with nearly 29 percent women professionals — the highest representation in the programme’s history — and spans six academic sections and 67 learning centres across India.

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has welcomed its 18th batch of the Executive MBA-equivalent programme (EPGP–IL), setting a new record for cohort size in the institute’s executive education portfolio. A total of 683 experienced professionals have enrolled in the flagship programme, making it the largest batch to date.

The programme, delivered through a centre-based interactive learning model in partnership with TimesPro, allows participants to attend sessions from one of 67 learning centres nationwide. This structure supports working executives by combining rigorous academic content with flexibility, enabling them to balance professional commitments with advanced management education.

Gender Diversity and Profile
One of the most notable features of the EPGP–18 cohort is its gender composition. Nearly 29 percent of the participants are women, the highest representation observed in the programme’s history, indicating a gradual but sustained rise in women’s participation in executive leadership education.

Age and Experience Distribution
The batch reflects a broad mix of professional experience and age groups. Nearly 50 percent of the participants fall in the 30–39 age bracket, followed by about 39 percent aged 24–29, and around 11 percent aged 40 and above. In terms of work experience, the largest segment — approximately 41 percent — has 6–9 years of industry exposure, while others contribute varied experience levels from 3–5 years to over 16 years.

Industry Representation
Participants come from diverse sectors, with the IT industry accounting for around 29 percent of the cohort, followed by consulting and other fields such as banking, insurance, manufacturing, e-commerce and aerospace. This cross-sector mix highlights the programme’s appeal to professionals from a wide range of industries seeking leadership and strategic management skills.

IIM Kozhikode’s EPGP–IL is designed to equip mid-career and senior professionals with advanced analytical, strategic thinking and leadership capabilities. The interactive format — delivered through technology-enabled learning centres — aims to create a national classroom experience while allowing participants to stay connected to their workplaces.
