IGNOU Begins January 2026 Re-Registration: Students Must Apply by January 15

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has officially started the re-registration process for the January 2026 session from December 1, 2025. This window is open for all existing students enrolled in Open and Distance Learning (ODL), Online programmes, and international learners who wish to move to their next semester or academic year.

Students must complete their re-registration through the official portal, ignou.ac.in, before the deadline of January 15, 2026. IGNOU has advised learners to apply early to avoid last-minute technical delays due to heavy website traffic. The direct re-registration link is available at ignou.samarth.edu.in.

Re-registration is mandatory for all continuing students. Applicants must update their personal details, choose courses for the next semester/year, and pay the prescribed fee using debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI. In case of failed payments, students are advised to wait before retrying; duplicate payments will be refunded automatically. After successful submission, students should download and save the confirmation page and payment receipt.

International students can follow the same process but must use supported payment methods such as VISA or Mastercard.

2. Click on “Register Online”
   
3. Log in using existing credentials
   
4. Fill personal details and select courses
   
5. Upload required documents and pay the fee
   
6. Review and submit the form
   
7. Download the confirmation page & receipt
