In a landmark development, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has announced plans to establish its first international campus in Dubai, with academic sessions commencing in September 2025. This initiative positions IIMA as the first among the Indian Institutes of Management to expand its footprint beyond national borders.
The announcement was made by IIMA Director, Professor Bharat Bhasker, during the institute’s 60th convocation held at the iconic Louis Kahn Plaza. The convocation was graced by Dr. S Somanath, former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), who served as the guest of honor and conferred degrees upon over 1,200 students across various programs.
The event also witnessed the launch of the Madan Mohanka Centre of Excellence in Case Method of Learning. Sponsored by IIMA alumnus and industrialist Madan Mohanka from the PGP 1967 batch, the center aims to strengthen the case study method of instruction, reinforcing IIMA’s commitment to innovative and practical learning approaches.
