IIM Nagpur Launches Blended MBA for Working Professionals; 83 Candidates Selected from 373 Applicants

IIM Nagpur has officially rolled out its flagship Blended MBA programme designed specifically for working professionals. The debut batch received 373 applications from India and overseas, out of which 83 candidates from more than 20 states and select international locations were shortlisted for the first cohort. 

The selected group reflects strong professional diversity, featuring participants from IT, healthcare, education, oil and gas, energy, consulting, logistics, defence, pharma, AI, technology, and more. Employees from top companies such as TCS, Cognizant, PolicyBazaar, HPCL, and Lloyds MEL are part of the inaugural batch. Of the applicants, 232 appeared for the written test and interviews. The final cohort consists of 64 men and 19 women, with an average age of 31 and average work experience of 7 years.

The programme was inaugurated in the presence of IIM Nagpur Director Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, along with Chief Guest Dr. N. Muthukumar, MD of Kaynes Technology, and Guest of Honour Nilabha Nag from McAfee Software. Speakers highlighted the importance of adaptability, leadership, and continuous learning in an evolving corporate landscape.

Calling the programme a “game-changer,” the Director noted India’s rapid economic growth and the need for future-ready managers. The Programme Chairperson emphasized that the Blended MBA allows professionals to pursue high-quality education without career interruption, reinforcing IIM Nagpur’s position as one of the country’s fastest-growing IIMs.
